Not too long ago, I needed a medium-sized run. I needed to head out to somewhere new and get a run in. I had a day of events planned in Cleveland and decided to check out the Morgana Run Trail. The trail is an urban trail that follows an old right-of-way for the railroad. It runs through Slavic Village. Because it's an old railroad trail, the scenery is best described as stark. A few of the buildings have murals.
I really enjoyed this trail, but I think some people might be intimidated by its location. There are no facilities, just a McDonalds near one end and a Wendys near the other. I passed some neighborhood folks who use the trail to get from one place to another. Oh, and it runs slightly uphill from W-E, which is how I ran the first half, and then the slight downhill made the final 2 miles a breeze. There is really no parking, except on the street, so definitely leave the car empty. I ran this by myself, one Sunday morning, and really enjoyed it!
Trail head at E. 49th
Absolutely no shade to speak of : would NOT be fun in the hot, hot summer!

I love that dandelion sculpture! I drive by it on 77 all the time :)
ReplyDelete@minimeg : It's pretty fantastic! The surrounding neighborhood is less so. But the trail is really nice. I want to roller skate it!
